In conjunction with Fashion Revolution Week, David Jones have stepped up to the mark to produce an exclusive capsule collection with 4 Australian designers: Manning Cartell, Nobody Denim, Viktoria & Woods and Bianca Spender.
As part of the campaign #whomademyclothes, every piece in the collection is locally produced and accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia. They are the national body that works with local companies to ensure fair wages and safe working conditions.
“The makers have actually signed each piece. There’s something very special about knowing exactly who made your clothes – it gives you an additional emotional connection” says Gabrielle Manning of Manning Cartel.
Each of these designers already have a longstanding relationship with most manufacturing processes based in Australia. By law, every single item of clothing requires disclosure of where it was made. Start investigating people!
